Library Access for Nonprofits Workshop In-Person
Appalachian State University librarians are hosting a one-day workshop on Monday, June 24, 2024 that's tailored to nonprofit organizations in our region. Our goal is simple: we want to help Western North Carolina nonprofits gain access to valuable library resources, including premium databases and journals that are typically restricted to faculty, staff, and student use.
Why is this important? These resources contain a treasure trove of data and information that may greatly support the grant writing efforts of many regional nonprofits. The workshop will offer:
- Hands-On Training: We'll teach workshop participants how to navigate the sometimes complex library systems and show them how to access these critical resources.
- Access to Premium Databases: Participants will learn how to access databases and journals that house research, data, and reports that can enhance their grant proposals and fundraising strategies.
- Expert Guidance: Our team of experienced librarians will be there to answer questions and provide one-on-one assistance.
- Customized Approach: We'll work with participants to find the most relevant data for their organization's unique needs.
The workshop is intended to equip our regional nonprofits with the practical skills and knowledge to utilize these resources effectively. By attending, participants may be better prepared to use these tools to their advantage, making their grant writing more informed and impactful.
