Trade Publishing: A Workshop on Creating Non-Fiction Books, Working with Agents, Ghost Writing, and Self-Publishing
Jamie Chambliss from Folio Literary Management will be speaking with the Appalachian State University publishing community on exciting topics related to publishing non-fiction, working with agents, and collaborating with ghostwriters.

The workshop will cover the following topics:
- An overview of the trade publishing landscape, including a discussion about hybrid and self publishing
- Whether to seek an agent, how to find ones that might be right for your project, and how to query them
- Nonfiction book proposals for trade publishers, including assessing your platform [handout provided]
- An overview of working with collaborators (ghostwriters, freelance editors, sensitivity readers, fact checkers)
